CENTRAL TOPS BOLINGBROOK 13-3!!!

Hinsdale Central hosted Bolingbrook in the first round of regional play. Senior right-hander Will Pahos took the mound for the Red Devils and pitched a complete game victory in 6 innings allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits with 2 walks, 2 hit batters and 7 punch outs in the outing. 

Both teams were held scoreless in the first 2 innings. Bolingbrook put 2 on the board in the 3^rd on a walk, 2 singles and an RBI groundout. Central scored its first run in the 4^th as Matt Sliter and Chris Bobo singled and moved into scoring position on a Stevo Kraynak bunt. Sliter scored on an RBI groundout from John Ellis.

Central exploded for 10 runs in the 5^th as Jack Hellwig doubled and Mac Burridge laid down a bunt single.  Matt Anderson’s sac fly plated Hellwig and tied the game at 2 apiece. Alex Tufano doubled and pinch runner Phil Zarcone scored on a single by Sliter. Bobo’s RBI single scored Burridge and Kraynak reached on a mishandled ball.  Ellis drove in a pair with a double and Peter Marquardt added an RBI single. Hellwig singled and Burridge walked to load up the bases and Anderson ripped a bases clearing double to cap off the 10 run inning and put Hinsdale ahead 11-2.

Bolingbrook got an unearned run on a drop 3rd strike in the 6^th.

Central ended the game in the 6^th as Bobo singled, Kraynak walked and Marquardt reached to load up the bases. Burridge belted a 2 RBI single putting Central up by 10. 

Hinsdale Central will take on Downers Grove South on Friday @ 4:30 in Downers Grove.
