TOPS WILLOWBROOK
The freshman team brought many
players to the plate in a
winning effort as they beat the
Warriors of Willowbrook. Michael
Frieze took the mound for the
Red Devils and hurled 3
scoreless innings allowing 1 hit
and 3 walks in the outing.
Philip Pielet, Alex Conti and
Aaron Walsh drew walks in the
first inning and Matt Silk
scored on a passed ball to put
Central up 1-0.
Tommy Concklin turned a nice
double play at 3rd in the second
inning to hold Willowbrook
scoreless. Christian Bokich,
Concklin and Silk singled to
lead off the 2nd and Tyler Irwin
belted an RBI single to give
Central a 2-0 lead.
Justice Camalick led off the 3rd
with a walk, advanced to 2nd on
a balk and scored on an RBI
double from Bokich who scored on
a sac fly. Ben Herbst and Pielet
drew walks but were left
stranded. Willowbrook put up a
run in the 4th and 2 in the 5th.
Central also added 2 in the 5th
as Herbst reached base and
scored on an RBI single by Rich
Licata. Tyler Irwin walked and
Trace Bareck belted an RBI
single for a 6-3 lead.
The Red Devils held Willowbrook
scoreless in the final two
innings behind strong pitching
and defense.
Basil Arain threw 1 inning
allowing 1 run on 2 hits with 1
walk and 3 K’s.
Matt Zilis tossed 2 innings with
1 walk 3 strike outs and 2 runs
scored.
Tyler Irwin closed out the last
inning. |
