Bellusci Sinks The Pirates!
Rob Bellusci pitched 5 strong
innings without allowing a run
on 3 hits with 1 walk, 1 hit
batter and 6 punch-outs. Central
got on the board in the bottom
of the 2nd inning
when Josh Camalick singled.
Pinch runner Mac Burridge stole
2nd, advanced to 3rd
on a sac fly by Bellusci, and
scored on a passed ball to give
Hinsdale a 1-0 lead. The Red
Devils broke through in the
bottom of the 3rd for
6 runs beginning with John Duffy
who drew a walk, stole 2nd
and scored on an RBI double by
Connor Marrero. Marrero stole 3rd
on the next pitch. Stevo
Kraynak walked and stole 2nd
followed by Camalick who
was hit by a pitch to load up
the bases. Marrero scored on a
passed ball and both runners
advanced into scoring position. Bellusci
belted an RBI single to score
Kraynak and David Kiyosaki added
a sacrifice fly to plate
Camalick. Charlie Herr drove in
Bellusci with an RBI single and
Will Pahos launched an RBI
double to left field scoring
Herr giving the Red Devils a
commanding 7-0 lead. Central
added a run in the 4th
as Matt Anderson and Camalick
singled and Bellusci drove in
Anderson on an RBI
ground-out. Hinsdale finished
off the Pirates in the 5th
as Herr walked and advanced to 2nd.
Pahos drove in Herr on an RBI
single up the middle and scored
himself on a wild pitch to end
the game. The Red Devils had a
well balanced game with solid
hitting and defense to finish
off Proviso East in 5
innings.
