Red Devils Take Series From LT!
The Red Devils won the final
game of the series against Lyons
Township in Hinsdale after
splitting the double header on
Saturday. LT scored twice in
the first inning but Central was
not about to get behind in this
game. Lead off hitter Connor
Marrero (4 for 5) singled and
scored as Stevo Kraynak (2 for
4) doubled. Matt Anderson (2
for 4) singled and Josh Camalick
(3 for 4) added an RBI single to
score Kraynak. Charlie Herr
laid down a sac bunt to advance
the runners and Alex Tufano (3
for 4) drove in Anderson with an
RBI single. Rob Bellusci (2 for
4) plated Camalick with an RBI
ground-out to put the Devils
ahead 4-2. LT tied the game in
the top on the second and
Central added 4 more in the
bottom of the inning. John
Duffy singled, speedy Marrero
laid down a bunt single and
Kraynak advanced the runners
with a sac bunt. Camalick drove
in Duffy and Marrero with a 2
run single. Herr reached base
and Tufano added a 2 run single
scoring Camalick and Herr.
The Lions jumped ahead in the 3rd
as they scored 5 runs. Central
answered again when Bellusci
singled, Jason McClain was hit
by pitch, and Marrero singled
scoring Bellusci. Kraynak drove
in McClain with an RBI single
putting Central ahead 10-9. In
the top of the 4th
inning, shortstop Stevo Kraynak
made a web gem as he barehanded
the ball behind the pitchers
mound and threw out the runner
at first base. Josh Camalick
led off the bottom of the 4th
inning with a solo home run over
the center field fence. Tufano
and Bellusci singled, advanced
into scoring position and pinch
runner Phil Hurst scored on a
wild pitch to put Central up
12-9. Hinsdale added 2 more in
the 6th as Kraynak
got a free pass to first base
and Matt Anderson hammered a 2
run homer over the right field
fence. Lt added 1 in the 6th
and Central responded as
Bellusci reached base, McClain
laid down a sac bunt and Marrero
drove in Bellusci with an RBI
single. Central held on in the
7th for a 15-10 win
at home.
David Kiyosaki pitched 2 innings
allowing 4 runs on 6 hits with 2
walks while fanning 2. Carson
Elmore allowed 5 runs on 3 hits
with 2 walks and 1 hit batter.
Jack Hellwig threw 4 innings
allowing only 1 run on 2 hits
and 1 walk. Will Pahos closed
out the 7th inning allowing 2
hits and striking out 1.
