Central Unable To Tame Mustangs!
The Red Devils traveled to
Downers Grove South in
non-conference play to take on
the Mustangs. Both teams were
scoreless in the first inning.
Central put 4 on the board in
the second as Charlie Herr, Rob
Bellusci and David Kiyosaki drew
walks. Herr crossed the plate
on an RBI single by Ryan
Connelly, Bellusci scored on a
fielder’s choice by Marrero and
Stevo Kraynak reached base
allowing Kiyosaki and Connelly
to score on a throwing error.
The Mustangs tied it up at 4 and
Central added 2 more in the 3rd
as Camalick reached on an error,
Herr singled and the runners
advanced on a passed ball.
Camalick scored on a wild pitch
and Herr crossed home plate on a
fielder’s choice by Kiyosaki.
Connelly walked and Hurst
singled but both were left
stranded. Downers evened the
score at 6 in the 4th.
The Mustangs pulled ahead in the
5th inning and never
looked back as the Red Devils
were unable to manufacture any
more runs. Central had a double
by Anderson in the 4th and
singles by Kiyosaki and Jack
Hellwig in the 5th
and 6th respectively
but neither were able to score.
Colby Ourada pitched 4 innings
allowing 7 runs on 7 hits with 2
walks and 1 strike out. Teddy
Lamb went 1/3 inning allowing 5
runs on 2 hits and 3 walks.
Drew Kornak went 1 2/3 innings
allowing just 1 hit, 2 walks and
1 strike-out.
