Central Loses Slugfest At
Addison Trail 10-8
On a beautiful sunny Saturday
afternoon, the Red Devils took
on Addison Trail in the last
game of the regular season. The
Blazers took an early 2-0 lead
with runs in the first and
second inning. Central put 3 on
the board in the top of the 3rd
as Connor Marrero (4 for 4)
singled, stole 2nd
and scored on a single by Rob
Bellusci (2 for 4). Addison
Trail made a great catch on a
line shot by Matt Anderson (2
for 4) and doubled off the
runner at 1st base.
Josh Camalick hit a long ball,
his 10th of the
season, over the right center
field fence to tie the game and
Stevo Kraynak followed with a
bomb over the left field fence
to take a 3-2 lead. Addison
added 3 runs in the bottom of
the 3rd to take the
lead back at 5-3. Central took
the lead again in the top of the
4th inning as David
Kiyosaki walked, advanced to 2nd
and 3rd on wild
pitches and scored on a ground
out by John Duffy. Marrero
singled, sole 2nd and
scored on an RBI double to left
center field by Bellusci.
Anderson drove in Bellusci with
an RBI single for the 3rd
run of the inning. Camalick and
Kraynak drew walks to load up
the bases, but all were left
stranded.
In the top of the 5th,
Hinsdale extended their lead to
8-5 when Alex Tufano doubled off
the left field wall. Duffy
drove in Tufano with an RBI
single. Marrero singled and the
runners advanced into scoring
position on a passed ball.
Duffy scored on a sacrifice fly
by Bellusci to right center
field. Addison closed the lead
to 8-7 in the bottom of the 5th
but Camalick ended the threat as
he fielded the ball, stepped on
3rd and fired to 1st
for an inning ending double
play. Addison took the lead for
good in the bottom of the 6th
on a 3 run homer. Marrero, who
was perfect on the day singled
in the 7th but was
left stranded.
Colby Ourada pitched 2 innings
allowing 5 runs (4 earned) on 6
hits with 2 walks and 1 strike
out.
Peter Marquardt went 2 1/3
innings allowing 2 runs on 3
hits with 1 walk and 4 punch
outs.
Carson Elmore threw 1 inning
allowing 3 runs on 3 hits with 1
walk and 1 strike out.
Teddy Lamb pitched 2/3 inning
with 1 hit and 1 walk. |
