Central Loses Slugfest At Addison Trail 10-8

On a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon, the Red Devils took on Addison Trail in the last game of the regular season.  The Blazers took an early 2-0 lead with runs in the first and second inning.  Central put 3 on the board in the top of the 3rd as Connor Marrero (4 for 4) singled, stole 2nd and scored on a single by Rob Bellusci (2 for 4).  Addison Trail made a great catch on a line shot by Matt Anderson (2 for 4) and doubled off the runner at 1st base.   Josh Camalick hit a long ball, his 10th of the season,  over the right center field fence to tie the game and Stevo Kraynak followed with a bomb over the left field fence to take a 3-2 lead.  Addison added 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to take the lead back at 5-3.  Central took the lead again in the top of the 4th inning as David Kiyosaki walked, advanced to 2nd and 3rd on wild pitches and scored on a ground out by John Duffy.  Marrero singled, sole 2nd and scored on an RBI double to left center field by Bellusci.  Anderson drove in Bellusci with an RBI single for the 3rd run of the inning.  Camalick and Kraynak drew walks to load up the bases, but all were left stranded.

In the top of the 5th, Hinsdale extended their lead to 8-5 when Alex Tufano doubled off the left field wall.  Duffy drove in Tufano with an RBI single.  Marrero singled and the runners advanced into scoring position on a passed ball.  Duffy scored on a sacrifice fly by Bellusci to right center field.  Addison closed the lead to 8-7 in the bottom of the 5th but Camalick ended the threat as he fielded the ball, stepped on 3rd and fired to 1st for an inning ending double play.  Addison took the lead for good in the bottom of the 6th on a 3 run homer.  Marrero, who was perfect on the day singled in the 7th but was left stranded.
