Bellusci Strikes Out 11 As
Hinsdale
Beats York In 8 Innings 5-4!
Rob Bellusci was outstanding in
6 innings of work on the mound
allowing 2 runs on 4 hits with 3
walks, 3 hit batters and 11
strike-outs in the second game
of the double header. York
threatened to score in the first
inning but a nice double play
was turned by Stevo Kraynak and
Matt Anderson to David Kiyosaki
ending the inning with the bases
loaded and no runs allowed. The
Red Devils struck first in the
bottom of the 1st
inning as Connor Marrero walked
and scored on a double by Stevo
Kraynak. Josh Camalick (3 for
4) singled and Jason McClain
walked to load up the bases but
all were left stranded. Central
scored a pair in the 2nd
when John Duffy (2 for 4)
singled, Phil Hurst reached base
and Connor Marrero laid down a
bunt single to load up the
bases. Anderson was hit by a
pitch allowing Duffy to score
and Camalick had an RBI single
to plate Hurst. York added a
run in the 3rd but
the scoring ended as Josh
Camalick turned a double play by
fielding the ball, stepping on 3rd
and firing to 1st for
the 2nd out and ending the
threat. Bellusci ended the 5th
inning throwing out a runner
attempting to steal home and
struck out the side in the 6th
inning.
York scored 2 in the 7th
to take a 4-3 lead. Central
came back in the bottom of the
7th to tie it up at 4 apiece as
Camalick singled and advanced to
2nd on a nice sac
bunt by Ryan Connelly. He took
3rd on a wild pitch
and scored on an RBI single from
David Kiyosaki. Central held
York scoreless in the 8th
. The Red Devils won the
game when Alex Tufano singled
and pinch runner Phil Hurst
advanced to 3rd on a
wild pick-off throw to 1st
base. Jack Hellwig hit a slow
roller down the 1st
base line to score Hurst and win
the game.
David Kiyosaki pitched the final
2 innings of the game allowing 2
runs on 4 hits with 2
punch-outs. It was a good come
from behind win and a great team
effort for the Red Devils!
