York Squeaks By Central 4-3!
On a day set aside to honor our
seniors for their service and
dedication to the baseball
program, the Red Devils took on
the Dukes of York in Hinsdale
for a doubleheader. Will Pahos
took the mound for Central and
pitched an impressive 7 innings
giving up 4 runs on 6 hits with
2 walks, 2 hit batters and 6
strike-outs!
The game remained scoreless
through the first three innings
helped out by Connor Marrero who
made a great diving catch in
left field. York scored 1 in
the top of the 4th
and Central added 2 in the
bottom of the 4th as
Matt Anderson was hit by a
pitch. Josh Camalick singled to
the right side on a hit and run
to advance Anderson to 3rd
. Camalick stole 2nd
and Charlie Herr brought
Anderson home with an infield
RBI single. Camalick scored on
an errant throw. David Kiyosaki
singled and Herr was thrown out
at home.
York took a 4-2 lead in the 5th.
Central got 1 back in the bottom
of the inning as John Duffy
singled, stole second and Rob
Bellusci reached base allowing
Duffy to reach 3rd.
Marrero drove in Duffy with a
sac fly to center field to close
the gap to 1. Catcher Ryan
Connelly threw out a runner
trying to steal 2nd
in the 7th inning to
hold York at 4. Central was
unable to get any more offense
going and lost a very hard
fought game. |
