Anderko Shines But Devils Fall
3-1 AT OPRF
The Red Devils came in to Oak
Park hoping to take game 3 of
the series but were denied the
victory in a very close contest.
Pitcher Scott Anderko threw a
gem of a game going 6 strong
innings allowing 3 runs (2
earned) on 6 hits with 3 walks
and 4 strike-outs in the
outing.
Hinsdale jumped out to an early
lead when Connor Marrero
singled. Matt Anderson
grounded into a fielder’s
choice and reached 2nd
on a bad throw to first. Josh
Camalick hit an RBI single to
score Anderson. It would be the
only run of the game for the Red
Devils. Oak Park jumped into
the lead in the bottom of the 1st
by scoring 2. Central had an
opportunity in the 3rd
inning as Stevo Kraynak and Matt
Anderson drew walks but both
were left stranded. Oak Park
had a serious threat in the 3rd
inning with runners at the
corners when Central turned a
triple play to end the inning.
Camalick fielded the ball,
looked back the runner at 3rd,
threw to Anderson at 2nd
who threw to Jason McClain at 1st
for the 2nd out and
McClain fired the ball to Ryan
Connelly when the runner broke
for home. Connelly tagged out
the runner to complete the
beautifully executed triple
play!
OPRF added a run in the 5th
to take a 3-1 lead and sweep the
series against Hinsdale. |
