Central Loses 7-5 Heart Breaker to OPRF!

In the second game of the series in Hinsdale, the Huskies of Oak Park jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a 2 run homer in the top of the first inning.  Central tied it up in the bottom of the 2nd inning on a 2 out rally beginning with a long ball over the left field fence by John Duffy.  Phil Hurst walked, stole 2nd and 3rd and scored on an RBI single off of the bat of Connor Marrero.  Hinsdale gave up 3 more in the 3rd inning to give Oak Park a 5-2 lead.  In the bottom of the third, Central had an opportunity to score when Matt Anderson and Josh Camalick singled.  Charlie Herr laid down a sac bunt to advance the runners into scoring position.  The next batter, Jason McClain, was hit by a pitch to load the bases but all were left stranded.  Both teams were scoreless in the 4th inning.  Camalick led off the 5th inning with a bomb over the center field fence to pull within 2.  Central held OPRF scoreless in the 6th inning highlighted by a diving grab by Camalick on a lazer down the 3rd base line.

The Red Devils missed a golden opportunity in the 6th inning as Hurst and Marrero walked.  Stevo Kraynak belted an RBI double to score Hurst.  Anderson was intentionally walked to load up the bases.  With 1 out, Central failed to pick up any more runs and the score going into the 7th inning was 5-4 in favor of Oak Park.  The Huskies scored 2 in the 7th to take a 7-4 lead.  In the bottom of the 7th, Ryan Connelly singled and Jason McClain doubled.  With runners in scoring position,

Duffy had an RBI ground out scoring Connelly but Central wasn’t able to score again and the game ended with Oak Park on top 7-5.  This was a very tough loss to the conference leaders.

David Kiyosaki went 6 innings giving up 6 runs (5 earned) on 7 hits with 2 walks and 3 strike-outs.  Peter Marquardt went 1/3 inning allowing 1 run on 1 hit and 1 walk. Carson Elmore went 2/3 inning giving up 1 walk.
