Will Pahos took the mound in
the 1st game of a
double-header against
conference foe Proviso
West. He pitched a complete
game and allowed the
Panthers to score once in
the top of the 1st
inning. The Red Devils put
2 on the board in the bottom
of the 1st with walks to
Connor Marrero, Stevo
Kraynak (2 for 3) and Matt
Anderson (2 for 3). Marrero
scored on a passed ball and
Kraynak on a sac fly by Josh
Camalick (2 for 2). The Red
Devils added 4 in the third
as Marrero singled and stole
2nd. Anderson
hit an RBI single scoring
Marrero. Camalick walked,
stole 2nd and
came home along with
Anderson on a 2 RBI double
by Charlie Herr. David
Kiyosaki added an RBI single
to plate Herr.
In the 4th
inning, Stevo Kraynak hit a
solo home run to put Central
up 7-1. Anderson and
Camalick singled but were
left stranded. In the 5th
inning, Alex Tufano led off
with a double. David
Kiyosaki (2 for 3) also
singled and John Duffy (2
for 3) belted a 2 RBI single
scoring Tufano and Kiyo.
Phil Hurst singled, Kraynak
added an RBI single scoring
Duffy and Jack Hellwig was
intentionally walked to load
up the bases for Camalick.
Josh stepped up to the plate
and blasted a grand slam
over the left field fence to
end the game in 5 innings
14-1.
Pahos pitched all 5 innings
allowing only 1 run on 3
hits with 1 walk, 2 hit
batters and 6 strike-outs.
It was a dominating
performance by the Red
Devils in all areas of the
game.
