Pahos’ 12 K’s Shut Out
Hilltoppers!
Junior Will Pahos was
spectacular on the mound
throwing the complete game
against Glenbard West. In seven
innings of work he totaled 4
hits, 1 walk and 2 hit batters
as he kept Glenbard’s hitters in
tact. The Red Devils struck
early when Stevo Kraynak doubled
and Matt Anderson (3 for 4)
drove him in with an RBI
single. Central added another
run in the second when Ryan
Connelly doubled off of the
center field fence and scored
when John Duffy (2 for 4)
blasted an RBI double down the
right field line. Hinsdale took
a 5-0 lead by adding 3 in the 3rd
inning as Connor Marrero (2 for
4) singled, stole second and
Kraynak walked. Anderson drove
in Marrero with an RBI single
and Kraynak scored on a throwing
error allowing Anderson to
advance to 3rd. Josh
Camalick (2 for 4) topped off
the 3 run inning with an RBI
single scoring Anderson. Pahos
struck out the side in the
bottom of the 3rd.
In the 5th, Kraynak
reached base on a mishandled
ball and Anderson belted an RBI
triple to right center field
scoring Kraynak. Anderson
crossed home plate as Camalick
doubled off of the right center
field wall and advanced to 3rd
on a ground ball. David
Kiyosaki brought Camalick home
on a sac fly.
In the top of the seventh inning
the Red Devils added 1 more run
as David Kiyosaki launched a
solo home run over the center
field fence to bring the score
to 9-0. Duffy also had a single
in the inning.
The stellar pitching of Will
Pahos, solid defense and timely
hitting by the Red Devils
combined for an impressive win
over a tough conference
opponent.
