Hinsdale Central Falls To
Naperville Central
On a cold and windy day in
Naperville, the Red Devils took
on the Red Hawks of Naperville
Central. Naperville jumped out
to a 1-0 lead in the first on a
solo home run. Hinsdale
answered in the 2nd
as Rob Bellusci reached 1st,
stole 2nd and scored
on an RBI double by Ryan
Connelly. The Red Devils took a
2-1 lead in the 3rd
when Connor Marrero smashed a
double down the right field line
and scored an a RBI single to
left field by Josh Camalick.
In the 4th,
Naperville scored 2 to take a
3-2 lead. They increased their
lead to 5 as they put up 4 more
unanswered runs in the 5th
inning. In the top of the 6th,
Alex Tufano drew a walk and
Bellusci singled but both were
left stranded. Naperville added
2 more runs in the 6th
to increase their lead to
9-2. Hinsdale scored 1 in the 7th
inning when Charlie Herr singled
to right field, Marrero walked
and Stevo Kraynak pounded an RBI
double to score Herr.
Despite a solid pitching
performance by David Kiyosaki,
the Red Devils were unable to
overcome the 6 run deficit. Kiyosaki
pitched 4 innings allowing 3
runs (1 earned) on 4 hits while
fanning 5 in the outing. He
picked off a runner at 1st
base. John Duffy and Carson
Elmore came on in relief.
