Red Devils Offense Sparks
Victory!
Scott Anderko took the mound for
Hinsdale Central in the second
game of the double header. The
first inning was scoreless but
LT took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd. They
extended their lead to 3-0 in
the 3rd. Catcher Alex
Tufano got Hinsdale started in
the 4th with a
single, followed by a walk to
Jason McClain but both were left
stranded. In the 5th
inning, Connor Marrero took 1st
after being hit by a pitch. He
stole 2nd and
advanced to 3rd on a
throwing error. Stevo Kraynak
hit an RBI single to score
Marrero. Matt Anderson walked,
Tufano added a single and David
Kiyosaki launched a sac fly to
score Kraynak and pull the Red
Devils within 1. With 1 out and
1 man on in the bottom of the 5th
inning, Colby Ourada came in to
shut down the Lions. Central
broke through for 4 runs in the
6th inning beginning
with singles by right-fielder
Rob Bellusci and center fielder
Phil Hurst. Marrero laid down a
sac bunt to advance the runners
and Bellusci scored on a wild
pitch to tie the game. Kraynak
powered an RBI double to left
center field and Hurst crossed
home to put the Devils
ahead. Anderson singled and
stole 2nd. With
runners on 2nd and 3rd,
Josh Camalick hammered a 2 RBI
single to left field scoring
Kraynak and Anderson and put the
Red Devils ahead by 3. Central
threatened to extend it’s lead
in the 7th with a
single by Kiyosaki and a double
by Bellusci but both were unable
to score. Central held on for a
6-3 win and a split of the
double-header.
Pitcher Scott Anderko went 4 1/3
innings allowing 3 runs on 4
hits with 1 walk, 1 hit batter
and 4 strike-outs.
Colby Ourada threw 2 2/3 innings
without allowing a hit and
fanned 3. |
