RED DEVILS CRUSH OAK LAWN IN
SEASON OPENER!
The Hinsdale 2009 Sophomore team
started off the season well with
an away win in Oak Lawn. The
windy and wet conditions made
play difficult
throughout. However, the Red
Devils jumped to early 4-0 lead
in the opening innings with some
impressive hitting which led to
Oak Lawn's opening pitcher being
retired early. Chris Bobo was
impressive for the Devils on the
mound going scoreless through
two and then John Spacapan
matched his efforts in the third
and fourth innings. Pat Foley
was reliable as ever from behind
the plate. By the top of the
fifth, Hinsdale had stretched
their lead to 12-0 thanks to
some power hitting from Chris
Bobo and Jack Gilbert, both of
whom would probably have
recorded homers on any other
field.
Jimmy Blodgett pitched the fifth
for the Devils to make it a
complete game. At this point,
the umpires decided to call the
game because of poor visibility
with a final score of 12-3. |
