Spacapan Pitching and Conte
Speed are Too Much for Glenbard
West
John Spacapan had another
outstanding pitching performance
for Hinsdale, shutting the
Hilltoppers down over seven
innings.
Hinsdale’s first run came from a
Bobo single and Foley RBI in the
first.
As common as the first one has
been this season, the second ,
by contrast, was more of a
rarity. It was the fifth
inning. It had started well for
Hinsdale with Chris Bobo ending
the top of the inning with a
nice double play at first
base. When Hinsdale came to bat,
Britt Conte, who is hot with the
bat, hit a sharp single to short
but beat out the throw. Having
barely recovered his breath he
proceeded to steal second,
surprising both the opposition
and the coaches. No sooner had
he brushed the dust off his
pants he was breezing round
third and towards home on a
Spacapan double. 2-0 Hinsdale
and that’s how it stayed. Phil
Zarcone made an outstanding
catch at the track in CF in the
seventh.
Hinsdale had completed another
very quick win with great,
economical pitching and heads up
baseball. |
