Hodakowski Shines as Hinsdale
Hit the Trail
This was a “home” game for
Hinsdale although it was played
away due to field conditions.
A hit and an error in the first
threatened trouble for Hinsdale
and opening pitcher Alex
Hodakowski but he worked his way
out of the jam and the Devils
came out hitting. Lead off man
John Spacapan reached on an
error and Matt Owen hit a single
to put runners on the corners.
This was the spark that Hinsdale
needed and a flurry of hitting
put 5 runs on the board. It
stayed this way until the third
when poor defense helped the
Blazers score four to make it a
one run game.
The score was leveled in the
fourth but from that point on
there was only one team in it.
Hodakowski got his second triple
of the game in the bottom of
that inning to add to the double
he hit earlier and the Devils
pulled 3 runs ahead.
Hodakowski went on to add yet
another double to his tally in
the sixth, knocking in Pat
Foley.
Foley came in as closer for the
Red Devils, replacing
Hodakowski, and got the save. |
