Hinsdale Overcome Warriors

A nice team effort from Hinsdale meant defeat for Willowbrook after the Warriors had threatened early on.  A Foley sac. fly knocked home Spacapan (who had singled along with Bobo) in the first for an early Hinsdale lead.  However after two innings the Devils found themselves trailing after some good hitting by the Warriors.  This was despite some solid pitching by Chris Bobo.

The pattern of the game changed in the third when the Warriors’ pitcher started to issue walks.  Wild pitching and overthrows allowed Hinsdale to pick up three runs without a hit!  Meantime Jared Kreger took over for Hinsdale on the mound and steadily worked his way through the Willowbrook batting order.  More loose pitching from the Warriors in the fourth helped us extend the lead to 6-2.

A Jack Gilbert single leading off the sixth turned into a run thanks to a nice RBI from

Mike DeSalle to make the score 7-2.

Gilbert pitched the last two innings for the Devils.
