Devils mauled by LT Lions
Chris Bobo started well on the
mound for the Red Devils in what
promised early on to be a tight
game. However, his confidence
was drained by a very tight
strike zone
and the Lions took advantage
finding gaps in the infield and
peppering the outfield. Despite
Bobo’s valiant efforts, the game
had slipped out of Hinsdale’s
grasp by the third and a
comeback never seemed likely.
The speedy Phil Zarcone who had
been very busy in center knocked
in Jack Gilbert for the Devils’
only run of the game in the
second inning. That was all
they could muster however having
threatened to force their way
back into the game with some
nice hitting by Britt Conte,
bases loaded and no outs.
Gilbert took over the pitching
in the fourth and fifth but the
lack of Devil offence meant that
the game was curtailed by the
slaughter rule.
This was a game Hinsdale
certainly will want to forget in
a hurry. |
