Devils Succumb to Trojans in
Opener
The score does little to reflect
the performance put up by the
Red Devils in the opening game
of the series against Downers
Grove North. One bad inning for
Hinsdale and that cost them the
game. Chris Bobo who started for
the Devils took a while to
settle and the Trojans took full
advantage jumping to an early
3-0 lead. Bobo’s efforts were
not helped by some sloppy
defensive plays. Daspin,
Spacapan and Gilbert hit well
for the Devils who were
eventually rewarded with a run
in the fourth. Gilbert replaced
Bobo in the fourth on the mound
and immediately found his
location. Momentum was
beginning to turn in Hinsdale’s
favor and it looked as though
they were going to mount a
rally. However an error in the
sixth cost the Devils a run and
with only one inning left to
turn things around, the task
proved too much for Hinsdale. |
