Wroble, 3 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and Rush’s 5 K’s is not enough to get win
Andrew put two points on the board first inning. Hinsdale had two runners on in the second but couldn’t convert them into runs. In the top of the third the Devils defense struggled to back up the pitcher Cook as the T-Bolts scored three more runs to put them up five to zero. In the fourth inning #24 Bill Rush entered the game to face Andrew’s top of the order, four of them were left handed hitters. Dorrance’s pitching match up proved to be a positive decision. Rush had 3 strike outs that inning with one walk and one hit. This was enough to pump up the defense who came alive in the fifth inning to execute a 5-4-3 double play and a throw down by the catcher #12 Taylor Weil who gunned down a steal attempt to second. The Devils defense stayed solid the remainder of the game but Andrew managed to squeeze out one more run in the sixth. The Devils tried to rally in the bottom of the seventh with the first batter of the inning #44 Jared White smacking a single, then #13 Kris Leksas hit into a fielders choice, this was followed by a single by #36 Jason McClain. #6 Rich Brennan then got on loading up the bases for #17 Eric Wroble who finished the rally with a double hit to the outfield bringing in two RBI’s the only runs for the Devils this day. Eric went three for three on the day. Rush had 5 K’s and 2 walks.
