Central Prevails In Pitchers Duel!
Scott Anderko pitched the game of the season as the Red Devils outlasted LT 3-2 in the final match-up of the season. Anderko pitched all 7 innings allowing 5 hits, 4 walks, 2 runs {1 ER} and punched out 6 batters in the outing. LT tried to get on the board early in the 1st inning but an inning ending double play fielded by Josh Camalick, flipped to Garrett Kawa and thrown to Charlie Herr at 1st ended the threat. The bottom of the 1st brought Connor Marrero to the plate where he reached on an error and Scottie Zender blasted a 2-run bomb to right field to give Central a 2-0 lead. LT cut the deficit to 2-1 in the top of the 2nd. Both teams failed to score in the 3rd and 4th inning due to great pitching and solid defense. Central threatened in the 4th when Rob Bellusci laced a triple over the left fielders head but the Red Devils failed to bring him in. LT tied up the game in the top of the 5th on a walk and back to back singles. Hinsdale took the lead for good in the bottom of the 5th when Camalick started off the inning with a single, advanced around the bases on passed balls to score the go-ahead run. LT threatened in the 7th with a 2-out double to left center field but failed to score.
The Red Devils played much better defensively and competed in every inning to salvage the 3rd and final game of the series with conference opponent LT.
