Herr Pitches Complete Game, Zender Continues Home Run Streak and O’Grady Goes 4 For 4 In 8-3 Win!

Charlie Herr pitched all 7 innings in the win over Downers Grove North allowing 3 runs on 6 hits with 7 walks and 7 strikeouts.  The Red Devils jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the 1^st as Richie Zajeski drew a walk and Connor Marrero doubled to left center field.  Josh Camalick laid down a sac bunt to score Zajeski and give Hinsdale a 1-0 lead.  Herr held DGN scoreless for the first 2 innings and they put one on the board in the 3^rd.  Slugger Scottie Zender belted a homer over the left field fence to give the Devils a 2-1 lead.  The Trojans added another run in the 4^th and catcher Ryan Connelly shut down a runner trying to steal 2^nd   base.  The Red Devils pulled ahead in the bottom of the 4^th as Rob Bellusci walked.  Sean O’Grady, who went 4 for 4 on the day, continued his hot hitting streak with a single and Herr reached on a dropped fly ball.   With the bases loaded, Zajeski crushed a line shot to the 3^rd baseman which was too hot to handle and Bellusci came home.  Marrero drew a bases loaded walk to score Herr and Zender reached base scoring Kiyosaki and Zajeski to give Central a 6-2 lead.  Bellusci led off the 5^th with a walk, O”Grady singled and Herr reached on a dropped sac fly to center field to score Bellusci.  David Kiyosaki singled scoring O’Grady and Zajeski doubled in the inning.  The Trojans added a run in the top of the 6^th and Central loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning when Camalick and O’Grady singled and Herr walked but all were left stranded.  Herr closed out the game for an 8-3 win and a 2 out of 3 series victory!
