Central Suffers Power Lapse In Loss To Downers Grove North
Central scored 1 run in the top of the first inning as Connor Marrero singled, Richie Zajeski walked and Josh Camalick laid down a sac bunt to advance the runners to scoring position. Scottie Zender reached on error allowing Marrero to cross the plate and give the Red Devils a 1-0 lead. That would be the only lead Central would enjoy for the rest of the game as the Trojans racked up 11 runs in 6 innings. Hinsdale threatened in the 3rd as Marero drew a walk, Camalick reached on an error and Zender singled to load the bases, but all were left stranded and the Red Devils came up empty. Pitcher Scott Anderko fielded 2 double play balls defensively but the offense sputtered as they could only muster up 3 hits and 1 run on the day. The tie breaker match will be held Monday, May 14th as the Devils try to take the series.
