Frosh post solid victory over Leyden
In a sharp contrast to Wednesday’s game, the Red Devil frosh put on a solid performance in all aspects of their game at Leyden on Thursday.
Offensively the Red Devils took advantage of 11 Leyden walks by adding six timely hits to plate 11 runs in six innings. Alex Tufano was limited to a 2 RBI triple in the fourth on a towering shot to left field that would have been over the fence on any field the frosh play on this year. Mac Burridge added a 2 RBI double in the top of the sixth for the Devils’ final two runs. Stevo Kraynak and Will Pahos added RBI singles in the second and third innings, respectively.
In the field the frosh were errorless and turned a couple of nice double plays. Pahos started the game and was relieved by Mike Rogers after giving up a run in the first. Rogers pitched four innings of 2 hit ball and Drew Kornak closed out the game with a 1-2-3 sixth.
