Temp Heats Up -- Bats Cool Off
While the temperature approached 80 degrees the Red Devil bats went the opposite direction as the frosh were only able to muster four hits against Andrew pitching today, none in the same inning.
Charlie Hetke had two hits - a double down the left field line in the 4th and a single to right in the 7th. He also had an RBI infield ground out in the 5th. Jimmy Kallas and Jack Hellwig contributed singles in the second and third respectively.
On the mound Kolby Ourada started and pitched 2 2/3 innings. He was relieved in the 3rd on Coach’s pitch count by Peter Marquardt, who also pitched the fourth. Cooper Travis pitched one and Jason Rafferty two.
There were errors by both teams which led to most of the scoring in this game. Trailing by two runs in the bottom of the seventh the Red Devils loaded the bases with one out but they were unable to score.
