HINSDALE CENTRAL RED DEVILS BASEBALL 2007
Red Devils Varsity Helps the Homeless
April 14::6 - 8 pm
Community Service project with PADS

On Saturday evening the Hinsdale Central Red Devil Varsity Baseball Team hit a collective homerun by assisting with set-up for our local PADS shelter at Community Presbyterian Church in Clarendon Hills.

The Public Action to Deliver Shelter, Inc. (PADS) offers overnight shelter to the homeless in Dupage County.  The program provides evening meals, an opportunity to socialize, breakfast and sack lunches for those seeking shelter.  This program is organized throughout Dupage county providing shelter every day of the week.  It is hosted by area churches and dependent on community groups for staffing.

Our varsity members provided set-up service including making beds, preparing sack lunches, and organizing table settings.  It was an impressive sight to see a sea of Red Devils jerseys, making beds for those less fortunate than themselves.  "It's a great way to give back to the community.  It's such an easy way to contribute to people who really need help." Said senior, Marc Weimer.

Bill Vichery, Community Presbyterian PADS co-ordinator was overwhelmed by the number of varsity members willing to help out on a Saturday Night.  He hopes to make this an annual event with the Red Devils.
