Ouch! Cimala, Lamb bombs not enough

Colin Cimala hit 2 solo home runs along with Will Lamb’s solo home run, but it wasn’t enough to take the sting out of the loss to the Hornets.

Anthony Fountas pitched 5 and a third innings, striking out 2 and surrendering 5 earned and 4 unearned runs.  Under pressure, Pat Keiser came into the 6th inning and got the remaining 2 outs, a fly out and an out at 3rd, when a runner tried to stretch another base out of an overthrow.  Lamb closed out the game in the 7th with a 1, 2, 3 out inning.

On the offensive side, 1 run was scored in each inning from the 3rd to the 7th.  Starting in the 3rd, Alex Bellusci doubled and then scored on a Toby Adeyemi double.  In the 4th, with 1 out, Cimala stepped to the plate and hit a laser home run over the left center field fence.  In the 5th, Lamb blasted a towering home run over the center field fence.  In the 6th, Cimala, first up in the inning, went yard again over the center field fence.  In the 7th, Andrew Nicholas got a double and then scored on an Adeyemi single for his 2nd RBI of the game, but it was not enough for the cross town loss of 9-5.
