Tough to take, LT gets a leg up in conference
The Red Devils may have lost the series to LT, but they proved their worth by battling toe to toe with one of the best teams in the Chicago area. The 8-1 score doesn’t measure how close the Devils were to LT. If it were not for 1 ball glancing off the glove and 1 fastball given up, the score would have been much closer.
Nick Kurash took his 1st loss of the season in stride. He struck out 8 batters but was victim of an error in the 2nd inning and had 3 earned runs over the 6 innings he pitched. Drew Bailey came in to pitch in the 7th, striking out 2 batters but threw one fastball mistake that cost him 3 runs.
The offense was unusually quiet with a total of only 4 hits. Two of those hits came from Bailey with 2 singles, 1 driving in the only Hinsdale run. Brett Suchy singled in the 2nd inning and scored the only Hinsdale run. Andrew Nicholas also singled in the first inning. |
