Seventh inning surge not enough as Hinsdale Central’s bats are cooled down
Kevin Quirke pitched a solid game, throwing 4⅓ innings striking out 4 and giving up 4 runs. Will Lamb pitched very well in the 5th and 6th striking out 1 and surrendered only 1 hit.
Glenbard West’s Notre Dame bound pitcher had the Red Devils’ offense baffled for 6 innings until Drew Bailey broke up the potential no hitter in the 5th with a sharp single up the second base line. In the 7th, the comeback began as Brett Morse started the inning with a booming home run and was followed by Jack Dinardo who singled. Tobi Adeyemi got into the hitting groove by lacing a double to left center field, advancing Dinardo to 3rd. Bailey up next hit a shot to the right centerfield gap but the fielder was in position and caught the ball for a sacrifice fly driving in Dinardo. That ended the scoring leaving the Red Devils short 2 runs for a 4 2 loss. |
