Kurash/Thomas, Noth/Morse:
Double Trouble for Willowbrook
Nick Kurash and Charlie Thomas dominated the Warrior batters, pitching a 2 hit shutout for the 4 0 victory in the first game of the doubleheader. Kurash threw 5 innings striking out 9 batters allowing 1 hit for his 4th victory of the young season. Thomas came in and pitched the final 2 innings striking out 4, allowing 1 hit for his second save of the season. Andrew Nicholas had a busy day defensively with two putouts and an unassisted double play.
The offensive stars were Brett Morse (2 3 single, HR) and Mark Noth (2 3 single, HR) starting in the 2nd inning when Noth reached base on an error followed by Morse who hit a towering home run over the center field fence, scoring Noth. In the third inning Brett Suchy doubled followed by Noth, who launched a home run over the left centerfield fence scoring Suchy. Other hits were generated by Drew Bailey in the 2nd (single) and Colin Cimala in the third (single). |
