Offense stays hot, Keiser muzzles Montini hitters

So much for a 7 inning game!  The Red Devils are getting use to unleashing their offensive muscle in only 5 innings during the last four games.  Pat Keiser is a perfect example of the pitching staff depth, by hurling all 5 innings, striking out 5 and spreading out the 6 hits and 2 runs so they didn’t cause damage.  For example, in the 3rd inning, with one out and bases loaded, Keiser threw a first pitch changeup which fooled the batter to hit an easy ground ball to Pat who threw to catcher Mark Noth who relayed to Sam Katz at first, for an inning ending double play.  Tobi Adeyemi was very busy in center field making 5 putouts for the game.

Offensively in the first inning Brett Suchy started things off by hitting a 360 ft. booming home run over the deepest part of the field.  In the second, Sam Katz reached base on an error by the shortstop and moved to 2nd when Alex Bellusci walked. With 2 outs Andrew Nicholas hit a double scoring Katz and Bellusci. Adeyemi hit a single that scored Nicholas.  In the 3rd inning Noth lead off with a double then successive walks to Brett Morse and Colin Cimala loaded the bases. Bellusci hit a single scoring Noth and Morse, followed by Drew Bailey who reached base on an error by the third baseman which scored Cimala. Nicholas singled to score Bellusci followed by Adeyemi who hit an infield dribbler for a single, loading the bases.  Suchy reached base on an error by the shortstop that scored Bailey.  Noth came to the plate for the second time in the inning and hit a sacrifice fly scoring Nicholas closing out the six run 3rd inning.  In the fourth, Cimala doubled, Katz hit a fly ball which was dropped by the right fielder scoring Cimala.  Katz was out at second base trying to stretch the hit to a double.  Bellusci hit a single, stole second and scored when Nicholas singled closing out the scoring for a 12 – 2 victory.
