KKKKKKKKKasey goes distance; Noth goes yard as Hinsdale Central become Sectional Champs!

A panicked mom ran to get Kasey Ourada’s dad to give him relief for a blister on his finger after the 3rd inning, “I gave him a Tylenol and told him to go get’em”, Dan Ourada said after the game.  Ourada put on a gutsy performance by going the distance, striking out 9 batters, giving up only 1 run on 8 hits for the 2-1 win.  West Chicago stranded 9 runners on base.  West Chicago did threaten in the 4th inning with the bases loaded and 2 outs, but the 1st batter in the order grounded out to Brett Morse at 1st base to end the inning.  Alex Bellusci had a productive day at 3rd base assisting in 4 put outs.

The offensive highlight came in the very 1st inning.  Andrew Nicholas hit the first of his 3 singles to centerfield.  Next up, Tobi Adeyemi hit into a fielder’s choice, reaching 1st base.  With two outs, Mark Noth stepped to the plate and with and 0-1 count, hit the next pitch for a no doubt about it home run over the left field fence, scoring Adeyemi ahead of him for a 2-0 lead.  That was all it would take as the ’06 Red Devil’s make Hinsdale Central baseball history and become the first team to secure a sectional title.

The Hinsdale Central Red Devils stay hot and take their winning momentum to North Central College as they face the Naperville Central Redwings on Monday, June 5, 2006 at 4:30 pm.
