Offense repeats its dominance over Proviso 15-5 while Kurash goes 3-0.
The Red Devils continued what they started in game one with a strong offensive output and the steady pitching for 4 innings by Nick Kurash in game two, for the team’s 6th win of the young season.
Andrew Nicholas reached base five times, walking twice, singling twice and reaching first on an error, driving in 2 runs and scoring 5. Tobi Adeyemi got on base all four times, singling twice, walking twice, reaching base on an error, driving in 2 runs and scoring 1. Brett Suchy reached base 3 of 5 times, with one walk, 2 errors by the shortstop and scored one run. Brett Morse batting cleanup was on base 3 out of 4 times walking twice and homered to right field, driving in one run and scoring one. Colin Cimala reached base on an error by the shortstop and a double scoring two runs. Alex Bellusci was 2 for 4, tripling in the first inning and singling, driving in two runs and scored once. Sam Katz reached base twice with a walk and then was hit by a pitch and scored 3 times. Drew Bailey went 2 for 4, doubling once and singling once driving in one run and scoring one. Frank Defino reached base 3 times with a walk, a fielder’s choice and an error by the first baseman, and scored one run.
Will Lamb and Pat Keiser both pitched in the 5th to seal the win. |
