JV's drop a tough one to WWS
The Red Devil JV’s played in the second game of a double header with Wheaton Warrenville South, coming up short in an 8-5 decision.
Pat Keiser started things off at pitching, going the 1st and 2nd innings, striking out 3 and allowing 2 runs. Marc Weimer pitched the 3rd and 4th innings striking out 2, allowing 3 runs. Drew Bailey pitched the 5th inning, striking out 3 and giving up 1 earned and 1 unearned run. Andrew Nicholas pitched in the 6th, striking out 1, allowing no runs. Charlie Thomas pitched the 7th inning giving up 1 run and forced a double play to end the inning.
On the offensive side, scoring started in the 2nd inning. Eric Wroble singled and moved to third on a Taylor Weil double. Frank Defino drove in Wroble on a ground out. The Devils took advantage of some walks and scattered hits in the 3rd inning to pull ahead. Kris Leksas starting things off with a walk, followed by Will Lamb who was also walked. Jack Dinardo singled to left scoring Leksas. Wroble then reached base on a fielder’s choice and was followed by Weil who singled, driving in Dinardo. Defino then coaxed a walk to load the bases and was followed by Mark Noth who was also walked to force in Wroble with a run. Brett Suchy’s sacrifice fly to center drove in Weil for the 4th run of the inning. |
