The Red
Devil Sophomore team suffered a 10-4 loss at the hands of the Andrew Lightning
Bolts on Monday in Tinley Park.
Catcher
Brad Sesser led the offensive attack with a triple and a single. The Devils pushed across a run in the
first inning on a single by Mike Imke (1-3), a walk to Matt Meyer (0-1, 3
walks, 2 runs) and a passed ball.
They also scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh
innings. Slesser led off the fifth
with a blast to the right center field fence for a triple. Garrett CookÕs two out single brought
home pinch runner Mike OÕReilly from third. In the sixth, Meyer walked, stole second, and scored when
Brock Piche reached on an error.
The DevilÕs scored their final run in the seventh on a single by
Slesser, a stolen base by pinch runner Troy Lang and a solid RBI single by Matt
Murray.
Hinsdale
pitchers Will Edwards (3 innings, 3 ER, 4 Walks, 3 HBP) and Garrett Cook (3
innings, 6 ER, 4 Walks, 3 HBP) battled wildness throughout the game. Edwards escaped bases loaded jams in
the second and third innings, allowing only one run while recording two strike
outs.
The Sophomores
resume action on Tuesday March 28th with a double at
Wheaton-Warrenville South.
