LT pounds Devils; takes second game
Lyons Township pounded out 17 hits in 5 innings and overwhelmed the Red Devils 13-3 in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader. LT scored two runs in the top of the first. Central got one back in the bottom of the frame with right fielder Jared White (1-2) scoring on pitcher Rich Brennan’s sacrifice fly.
LT scored three more times in the top of the second. Hinsdale scored twice in the bottom of the third. Shortstop Zach Leathers (1-2) and catcher Grant Slesser (2-2) drove in the runs for Central. But after that, it was all LT as the Lions scored 5 runs in the 4th and 3 runs in the 5th.
Central will try to salvage one game of the series on Tuesday. |
