Sophomore Devils look flat in series finale 6-2 loss to OPRF.
After taking the first two games on the series, Hinsdale could only manage three hits against a spirited OPRF team. The Devils jumped on the board first when they manufactured a run in the second inning. With two out Brock Piche reached first on a dropped third strike and stole second base. He scored on a single to right field by Bill Auriemma (2-3, RBI). Oak Park scored all six of their runs in the third inning. They were aided by two Hinsdale errors and two walks. The Devils scored their second run in the seventh inning when Harrison Dahl reached second base on a throwing error by the third baseman. He scored when Mike Imke’s long fly ball was misplayed in right field.
In relief, Mike O’Reilly allowed only one run and 5 hits over the last 3 2/3 innings. |
