In the second game, the Devils dropped a heart breaking 5-4 decision to the Dukes. York scored four runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to overcome a 4-1 deficit.
Hinsdale took the lead with a run in the top of the second. With one out, Brock Piche (1-2 run,BB) doubled over the head of the left fielder. He scored on a two out sharp single by DH Garrett Cook (2-3, run,RBI). The Red Devils added two more runs in the third inning. Zach Leathers (2-4, run) started the inning by singling and stealing second. Bill Auriemma (1-1, run, 2RBI) doubled home Leathers. Grant Slesser (2-3, RBI) doubled into the right-center field gap to score Hinsdale’s third run. The fourth came in the fourth inning on singles by Cook and Mike Imke (1-4) and a sacrifice fly by Auriemma.
Harrison Dahl started the game on the mound giving up one run and one hit over 3 1/3 innings. Nick Baldwin relieved Dahl and was tagged with the loss after giving up the four earned runs on four hits in the sixth.
