Central Loses Tough One in Extra Innings 12-9
The opening game in the Oak Park-River Forest series started out slow until Oak Park jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Central came back in the third inning to tie the game at 2. The Huskies kept the pressure on by scoring in the next three innings. The Red Devils staged a dramatic comeback from a 9-5 deficit in the seventh inning to tie up the game and send it into extra innings. In the eighth inning, the Huskies scored three runs and Central could not make up the 3 run deficit falling to Oak Park. Scottie Zender pitched 5 innings, Robbie Bellusci- 1 inning, and Charlie Herr- 2 innings.
