RED DEVILS BOMB LT
The fighting Red Devils showed their resiliency by overcoming a 2 run late inning deficit rallying in the bottom of the sixth to tie and winning on Andrew Nicholas’ walk off bomb.
On a perfect day Hinsdale jumped into the lead in the first when a singling Dustin Reznicek crossed home on Chad Bisnette’s long homer over the scoreboard.
LT all state ace Dan Sorce homered to right to lead off the third. LT quickly followed with 2 more and it didn’t look good when the runner on first tried to go to third on a play to center. Biz fired a perfect relay to Connor Lind who whirled and fired a strike to third baseman Dan Portschy who applied the slap tag to end the inning.
LT added an unearned run in the fifth to grab a 2 run lead when fireman Nick Kurash came in to replace Eric Binder who pitched 4 1/3 strong innings and held the Lions scoreless with his high heat for the rest of the game.
Sorce was rolling along with his wicked curve ball which found 12 Devils grabbing some bench until Biz strolled to the plate to lead off the sixth and hit another towering homer to left. Garrett Sosnovich followed by lacing another fastball into the left center bushes to tie the game.
After another strong inning by winning pitcher Kurash, Nicholas launched a bomb over the right field wall, was met by his jubilant teammates and evened up the series.
