Doug Pilcher made a tuneup appearance for two innings allowing only 1 run and striking out 3. Ricky Berdelle then pitched a brilliant 4 innings striking out 3 and allowing 1 hit on no runs.
The Red Devils got on the scoreboard in the second inning starting with Colin Cimala’s double to left center and then scored on Brett Morse’s double. Andrew Nicholas singled scoring Morse followed by Danny Portschy’s double that scored Nicholas. Mark Noth then doubled to score Portschy closing out the inning with 4 runs. In the third inning Morse singled with 2 outs then stole second and third and scored on a Nicholas single giving the Red Devils a 5 – 1 lead. In the fourth Noth hit his second double of the game and scored on Colin Cook’s double. Connor Lind then reached base on a bunt single and bags were loaded when Dustin Reznicek was walked. Chad Bisnette stepped to the plate and with a 1 – 1 count clubbed a grand slam home run leaving the score 10 – 1. The Red Devils then closed out the game in the sixth inning when Tom Schultz was walked and moved to third on a Charlie Thomas single. Sam Katz up next hit a single to score Schultz ending the game with a 11-1 victory.
