CENTRAL RAKES THE DUKES
Hinsdale Central traveled to York and trounced the Dukes of York in a double header sweep which was highlighted by 31 hits and 27 runs!!!
Central scored 4 times in the first when Connor Lind singled advanced on Dustin Reznicek's play to second and scored on Garret Sosnovich's rbi. After a walk to Brett Morse, Andrew Nicholas doubled in 2 more.
The Daily Double stuck again in the second when Lind singled, stole second and scored on Rez's rbi who then trotted home on Sos's sac fly.
Nicholas walked to lead off the third and scored on Rez's double. Lind chased Rez home on his record setting fifth triple to the right field fence.
Chad Bisnette doubled to lead off the second and scored the ninth run on Morse's sac fly.
Back on the bump Doug Pilcher continued his late season dominance by going the distance scattering six hits and whiffing 4 while yielding 2 runs. The Devil D was at its finest in the second when Pilcher blocked a hard hit grounder to Nicholas who fired to first and Connor Lind glove flipped a ball on the outfield grass to Nich who completed a nifty double play turn.
Back at the plate the Devils added 2 more in the sixth when Rez and Biz doubled. The Devils closed out the scoring when they added 4 in the seventh when Mark Noth doubled scored on Lind's rbi and Rez, Biz and pinch runner Mike Grez came home on Morse's double.
What a performance to set the stage for the second game.
