Berdelle in Control, Devils Pound the Ball
Ricky Berdelle cruised to his third victory of the year by yielding only 1 run while striking out 5, walking 1, and scattering 4 hits in the slaughter rule 12 to 1 victory at Leyden.  Ricky helped his own cause by pounding out 2 hits scoring one run and making a successful sacrifice bunt.

The Red Devils started slowly when Chad Bisnette  scored a run in the first on Andrew Nicholas’ hit.  They picked up steam in the second when a doubling Doug Pilcher scored on Mark Noth’s double followed by Connor Lind’s rbi single.

The floodgates opened in the third when Nicholas led off with a single advanced on a walk to Colin Cook moved up on Pilcher’s play to third that loaded the bases for another Noth hit that drove in 2.  After Berdelle’s sacrifice, Lind tallied another with a sacrifice fly.

The Devils added 3 more in the fourth when Nicholas walked and scored on another rbi double by Noth, an rbi double by Berdelle and an rbi single by Lind.

To complete the scoring in every inning the Red Devils added 2 in the fifth when Nicholas sac fly scored Brett Morse after his booming triple.  Drew Bailey pushed the Devils over the top with a deep rbi double that scored Colin Cook for the final run.
