Devils Rock, Binder Rolls
Behind a complete game pitching performance by Eric Binder Hinsdale Central topped the Hilltoppers 9 to 2 in the first game of a twin bill.
Glenbard ace Jim Sadjwich met his match as the Red Devils grabbed an early lead when a singling Dustin Reznicek scored on Chad Bisnette’s double.
Glenbard tied the game in the second but Hinsdale could not answer leaving runners stranded after a Connor Lind triple and Dan Portschy single in the second and third.
The opportunistic Devils scored 3 in the fourth when Rez reached on an error advanced on a walk to Biz and scored on Garrett Sosnovich’s 2 rbi single. Sos trotted home on Brett Morse’s single.
Hinsdale knocked out the Glenbard ace in the fifth by batting around with a 5 spot led by Dan Portschy’s homer into the left field batting cage. A walking Andrew Nicholas and singling Binder scored on a Rez fielder’s choice and rbi singles by Biz and Sos.
Binder changed speeds effectively throughout the day and struck out 4 and scattered 5 hits. GO RED DEVILS
