The Dog Days of April
The Huskies came out in game two treating their guests like a new fire hydrant in the neighborhood. With Bill Rush taking the mound for the Devils, Oak Park batters mounted a quick seven run lead. The Devil southpaw was not feeling his best and fought through three innings before turning the ball over to reliever, Drew Wills.
Wills held the Huskies to two runs over the balance of the game and euthanized four Huskies with his gas.
The Devils outhit Oak Park seven to five but walks and errors proved to be too much to overcome. Devil offensive efforts came from Eric Wroble’s two hits and an RBI, Brett Suchy’s single and an RBI, singles by Drew Wills and Taylor Weil and a double by Bill Rush.
The Red Devils look to rebound against the Huskies at Red Devil Field on Tuesday. Would someone put a short leash on Oak Park? After all, there is a leash ordinance in Hinsdale.
