The Hinsdale Freshman B Team put in a strong performance against York on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon. Scott Pauga and Brett Paul combined to pitch a five hitter. Scott did a great job keeping York hitters off balance with his curve ball in 4 innings of work. Brett over powered the York hitters striking out 6 batters in 3 innings of work. The defense was solid throughout the game. With Sam Katz making a diving catch in right and beat the runner back to first to end the third inning with a double play. Charlie Thomas made a nice grab in center field in the 6th. Andrew Hubbarth was solid throughout the game at shortstop with Tom Lusk making a couple of nice plays at 2nd. Danny Ball called a good game at catcher and nailed a runner at second trying to steal. The hitting attack was paced by multi-hit days by Drew Halliday, Andrew Hubbarth, Brett Paul and Sam Katz. Dan Chakos led off the 4th with a triple and later scored. Pat Keiser and Kevin Quirke both singled sharply and took one for the team [hbp]. Terrific effort all around.
